Discover the bold flavours of Ghana
Vibrant, aromatic and full of character, Ghanaian street food is one of West Africa's most exciting culinary traditions. Transport yourself to the bustling streets of Accra and Kumasi as you get to grips with 3 iconic Ghanaian dishes in this unforgettable class.
Discover the bold, layered flavours that define this richly diverse cuisine as you learn to cook the dishes that feed a nation. From building the perfect waakye pot to mastering the caramelised heat of kelewele and grilling chichinga to smoky perfection, you'll gain hands-on skills and cultural insight whilst learning how to make traditional recipes in a modern kitchen.
What you'll learn:
- Build a waakye pot from scratch – discover the dried sorghum leaves that give waakye its distinctive earthy colour, then cook rice and beans together in one pot to create Ghana's most beloved street food staple.
- Master the art of kelewele – learn to select perfectly ripe plantain, coat it in a fragrant spice blend of ginger, chilli and nutmeg, then fry it until deeply caramelised with a tender, yielding centre.
- Grill chichinga like a roadside vendor – skewer beef the Ghanaian way, coat it in a fiery spice blend, then grill it to smoky, charred perfection.
What you'll make:
- Waakye – rice and beans cooked together with dried sorghum leaves, served with a selection of accompaniments
- Kelewele – spiced fried plantain, deeply caramelised and fragrant with ginger and chilli
- Chichinga – grilled beef skewers, generously spiced and charred over heat

Things to know before you book:
- You're welcome to book on your own. I'll pair you with another solo attendee on the day.
- The class includes demos, hands-on cooking, and time to sit down and enjoy the food you've made together.
